What we collect, why we collect it, and what you can do about it.
Effective
We do not sell your personal information, and VehicleLogix contains no affiliate links anywhere on the site.
1What This Policy Covers
This policy explains what information VehicleLogix collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what you can do about it. VehicleLogix is a DBA of Esparco Ventures LLC, a California limited liability company. It applies to vehiclelogix.com, the free Resources pages, and the paid guide.
2Information You Provide
We collect the following only when you give it to us:
Terms acceptance record. When you accept our Terms of Use before purchase, we store your initials, your email address, the date and time, and the version of the terms you accepted. This is kept as proof of acknowledgment.
Purchase information. When you buy the guide, your payment is handled by our third-party payment processor, which acts as the merchant of record. We receive confirmation of your order and your email address. We never see or store your full card number.
Access information. Access to the paid guide is tied to your email address. We store a record of which devices have been granted access, up to a limit of three per purchase, so we can enforce that limit.
Newsletter signup. If you subscribe, we store your email address and any optional information you choose to provide at signup, along with the date you subscribed and your consent to receive related automotive content.
Messages you send us. If you email us, we keep the message and your address so we can respond.
3Information Collected Automatically
Like most websites, our hosting and advertising providers automatically record standard technical information when you visit, including your IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, and the site you arrived from. Cookies and similar technologies are used for site functionality, for keeping you signed in to the guide, and for advertising as described below.
4How We Use Your Information
We use the information above to deliver the guide to people who purchased it, to enforce device limits, to send transactional email such as access links and receipts, to respond to support and refund requests, to send the newsletter to people who asked for it, to keep proof of terms acceptance, and to operate and improve the site.
We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not share your email address with advertisers. See the advertising section below for how third-party ad cookies are treated under California law.
5Service Providers We Use
We rely on a small number of third-party providers to run the site. Each receives only the information it needs to do its job, and each is bound by its own privacy policy and our agreement with it. The categories are:
Website hosting and storage — serving the site and holding access and terms-acceptance records.
Payment processing — handling purchases, receipts, refunds, and tax as merchant of record.
Transactional email — delivering access links, acceptance confirmations, and support replies.
Newsletter delivery — sending the newsletter to subscribers and managing unsubscribes.
Advertising — serving ads on the free Resources pages, as described below.
We do not provide your information to these providers for their own marketing. If you want to know which specific providers we use at any time, email us and we will tell you.
6Advertising and Cookies
The free Resources pages are supported by advertising. We use third-party advertising services, including Google AdSense, which may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising through your Google Ad Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies at aboutads.info.
VehicleLogix contains no affiliate links. We do not earn referral fees from dealerships, lenders, insurers, GAP providers, or service contract providers. Advertising is the only monetization on the free pages, and the paid guide contains no advertising at all.
Under California law, allowing third-party advertising cookies may be considered “sharing” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, even though no money changes hands. You can opt out using the controls linked above or through your browser and cookie settings.
7How Long We Keep Information
Terms acceptance records and purchase records are kept for as long as needed to support your access and to meet tax and recordkeeping obligations. Access records are kept while your access remains active. Access is revoked automatically if a purchase is refunded. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe, which you can do from any email we send.
8Your Choices and Rights
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time, opt out of personalized advertising through the links above, and ask us to tell you what information we hold about you or to delete it. To make a request, email us using the address at the bottom of this page. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we may need to keep certain records where the law requires it.
California residents have rights under the CCPA and CPRA, including the right to know, delete, and correct personal information and to opt out of sale or sharing. Visitors from the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom have rights under the GDPR, including access, correction, deletion, and portability. We honor these requests regardless of where you live.
9Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the site changes or as the law requires. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent version. Material changes affecting how we handle your information will be reflected here before they take effect.
